Mobile Theatre Van

Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment........... a famous hindi movie dialogue say's it all about films and television, a source of entertainment since centuries marked the achievements in a remarkable way from all over the world and continues to hold a massive appeal. We are in a era of globalisation, modernisation, industrialization and new media communication where entertainment now showcases what the society needs,  demands and accepts, a new media is evolving with greater pace in modern world with new concepts.
Infotainment is one such new concept we see around us, entertainment -information in bulk volumes. Today's impatient and curious generation shows lesser involvement in traditional mediums but change of taste gave rise to new flavour as well, at the end all we want is to intake a lot of facts based informations with entertainment quotient among them.
One such accepted traditional medium available with us in India is Nukkad Natak, a hugely popular infotainment medium.  Live plays are demonstrated with live actors, props, location, audiences and most importantly a close eye contact with the audience providing instant feedback to a play performed live in a wayside,  streets, village markets,  open-air ground, fair-sites, country yards and other public areas.  We look upto it as a mode of interaction which is genuine, factual and communicable, thus perceiving the message in the minds of receiver.
In India, where we have a high degree of illetracy, poverty, and where people are deprived of any luxury see's theatre and a luxury, this kind of theatre will be versatile and adaptable, cheap and mobile to them. We can share socio-political awareness messages thus,  awakening the people to their fundamental and political rights on current bulging issues like communalism, terrorism, police atrocities, bride burning,  dowry system, caste inequalities, elections,  industrial and agricultural exploitation, alcoholism, illetracy, drug addiction and female feoticide.
Do you know Steet theatre is called mobile theatre medium?
Innovation is a key to successful business, incorporating traditional and modern innovation together does the wonders.  Mobile theatre medium is flexible and mobile and can reach to people who cannot go to the theatre. This,  fulfilling learning needs while encouraging and boosting participator spirit among people.
To educate and entertain rural India a new innovative approach opted now a day, where a mobile digital theatre is made on wheels.  A truck or van is basically an office,  movie theatre, market or information center, all together at one place for easy access and reach. Today the government is using this as service center and also an education centre. Gone are the days when people go to the theatre to watch films because it has a big screen.
Digiplex,  a mobile theatre vans, run by Picture Times,  India's mobile theatre van that educates and also entertains is such example. The revenue model for the digital theatre will be a ticket, which is priced at Rs 30-50. Advertising from government and private companies and marketplace are the other ways for revenue generation.
Discoveries and innovation has the potential to change the world,  while involving traditional medium in the present scenario according to its need and suitability will determine its presence. Mobile theatre in wheels has a long way to go as its beginning has shown a remarkable acceptance among people of rural India.
